Take advantage of this time at home to raid your pantry for this easy DIY face mask! Oats, yogurt, and honey come together to create a mask good enough to eat and nourishing and gentle on skin!

Benefits

Oats help to draw out excess oil while maintaining moisture, gently exfoliate the skin, and soothe itchy or irritated skin (such as eczema or sunburn) while also tackling blackheads and acne. Yogurt is high in lactic acid to gently promote cell turnover. Honey is a natural microbial that fights acne-causing bacteria in clogged pore while also preserving moisture. As you can see, the running theme here is an active mask that addresses common  skin issues from multiple angles, but gentle enough for even sensitive skin!

Ingredients

2 T old fashioned oats

1.5 T plain yogurt (plain is key, not flavored)

¾ T raw honey (raw is best for maximum nutrients)

Recipe

Grind the oats in a coffee grinder into a fine powder. Add to a mixing bowl with yogurt and honey, mix together until the thick yet spreadable consistency is achieved, adding more honey or yogurt as necessary. If desired, steam face with an herbal face steam prior. Otherwise, using hands or a masking brush, apply the mask to clean skin covering the entire face, T-zone, neck, and décolletage. I like a thick mask, so I take my time to coat it on. This should feel super good with the cold yogurt and soothing oats! Leave on until it’s dry--20-30 minutes, then wash off with a steamy wash cloth. Finish with toner and a favorite face oil. Skin should feel smooth and calm!
